Soft, powdery, cold....SNOW!

Snow is a really big deal in Atlanta! As you might have read, its snowed while we were having our mundan. Needless to say that we had a long, fun ride home. We don't remember all of it as we decided to take a nap. We were not moving for much of it and it did get a little boring so we decided to get in our zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Everything was white! From on top of the houses to the roads and even on the trees. Everything had a white covering on it. Mumma bundled us up in our  caps and jackets and let us go out and explore. You know, hair helps you keep warm. Our bald heads felt so cold that we didn't really want to be outside for very long. Our experience of snow.....its better to look at, than to be in it. OK its fun to play in it but just for a few minutes!

Everything was white!

Wow!!! It looks so pretty!

Look the snow is falling from the sky!

Zoya...touch it...its really cold!

Let me try..! It is really cold!

Lets not stuck it with our hands! They get cold!

OK can we go inside. I feel cold on my head and  even my bum is numb now!

The best part of the snow storm was that papa's office was closed the next day and so we got to spend a lazy day with extra masti time with him! Here are some pictures of us!

Cuddling in the cold weather!

Mundan

Mundan is a hindu ritual where a babies hair is all shaved off. Yes.... we had ours and we are such cute ganjus now. As per what the panditji said, intelligence enters through the head, and as a baby we have a gap in our head....hey its closing up fast so panditji read some mantras and helped get us all the intelligence before that gap closes. So, in other words, we are going to be super intelligent, hey.. the pandit said it!

We got dressed in our lengths and were walking all over the house excited to hear the little ghungroo. We went to the mandir where panditji explained the whole thing and did the poona. We loved the pooja. We actually sat there and played with the fruits! Then panditji made mamma tie three pony tails on our head and he chopped off our hair! yes, he just chopped it off. We were so upset! we cried while he did it, but you know us...everything was fine the minute we were allowed to run. It wasn't that bad!

Well, we though it was all over until Mamma and Papa took us to the hair salon. They used these buzzing machines and slowly took all our hair off.  Zara thought it was ticklish and sat there giggling while holding Mammas hands, but you know Zoya! She doesn't like anyone touching her head...how dare they put the buzzing machine to her head! She was super unhappy and she did let them know.

Once it was done, it was not all that bad! We just felt really cold on our head, and it didn't help when Atlanta gets its first snowfall on the same day! We think we looked really cute! We know Mamma is sad as she can't put clips on us for a while but Papa, we see you smiling!

Here are some pictures from before and after!
We definitely needed a haircut! But....they took it all off!

13 Months Old

Wow we turned 1! We spend a lot of this month just really recuperating. We got super tired from our fantabulous birthday party! It wasn't hard recuperating since we had so many new toys! We did get out as well! We went on train rides and got to sit with Santa. Zara was not too happy with Santa!
His beard was so white and prickly and he was so fat! It looked like he could eat us up! That's what scared her and she didn't want to sit with him at all.

This was a big month for Zara.  Zara was walking right after her birthday party. It was Dec 28 to be exact. Zara enjoys walking so much that since she is new at it, she fell a bit! Why would I walk when it means falling down all the time. My speed crawling and my newly adapted version of "cralking" (crawling and walking) on my knees is very efficient right now.

Train ride!

Watch Out!! The new POLICE!!!

Cabin Trip with Salil Chachu

Salil Chachu, Shweta Chachi and our buddies Sanay and Svana came to visit us for a few days. We had so much fun playing and making noise with them. We also went on a cabin trip away in the mountains and as usual ...we all had a blast. We had to introduce Sanay and Svana to cabin trip and oh! they just loved it!

Zara doing mast with Papa!

Zoya reading!

See those Happy Faces! They loved the cabin

It was cold in the cabin so we all enjoyed staying bundled up and staying indoors except for the visits to the hot tub! The water was nice and warm and we just enjoyed being in the water while out nose and ears were freezing cold. Sanay loved the hot tub and just wanted to be in it all day long. Svana  was a little scared initially but once she was warm all 4 of us had a blast with the papas.

Us with Papa!
The cabin also had a pool table. We l earned to play pool our way! The aim of the game is to get the balls in the pockets right! Well we masted that skill. Since they didn't let us use the sticks we got on the tables and put the balls in the pocket. We all were winners!

See...thats how its done!

While we were asleep, Mumma, Papa Chachu and Chachi did a lot of masti. They even had the fireplace on. Its not fair, we were not allowed in the cold, why didn't they turn on the fireplace when we were there! We even tried to convince Papa to take us outside with him! We have proof too!

Please Papa, take us outside too!
