11 months old!!

We just turned 11 months old!!! Wow!!! One more months and we will be a year old!

Well this has been a pretty fun filled month! Zara had her first tooth come out of November 5th and the second bottom one soon followed a couple of days later. Zoya still has 4 teeth. We are getting stronger, taller and more talkative. Zara is constantly talking and arguing back. Her favorite words are "galey galey galey" Zoya is the more quiet one and makes some small noises. Zoya has learnt how to give high fives and also clap her hands!

We are eating everything when it comes to food. We enjoy pasta, eggs, salmon, idli…or the list just goes on.

We did go to some fun places this past month. Here are some pictures from this month.

Papa's Birthday!

It was Papa's birthday! We were super excited. Mumma had said she was going to have a small cake for papa to cut at midnight and Zoya was able to wake up in time to be there! Zara on the other hand was too tired and was fast asleep.

We helped mamma make a really fun and exciting dinner for Papa as we know he is into cool recipes and new types of food. Here are some pictures from Papa's special day!

First Diwali

Diwali is one of the biggest festivals for us Mumma was telling us. Its the festival of lights. The festival signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and hope over despair! Hmm…now we get why its so important!
To celebrate, mumma and papa had called some people over the day before Diwali, which is called "Choti Diwali" or Small Diwali so that we could all join in the party fun. We even helped Mumma with the rangoli!
Here is proof that we helped….it did  take the longest time to figure out how that Rangoli went together!
Everyone wore their indian outfits including us, or did you have any doubts! Zara got to wear her matching bangles but Zoya wanted nothing to do with them and cried till they all came off! Here are some pictures of us all dressed up.
All dressed up! Posing for the camera!
Zoya chewing on her bangle!
Zara likes her finger better!
Mumma is she laughing at what I said or just because the sun is in her face?
Am I cute or what?
Waiting eagerly for all the guests to arrive.
Once everyone got here, they all took some celebe…something something shots! No silly…not those ones. Those ones hurt! They were all enjoying and drinking theirs. Maybe next time we will get these shots instead. The ones we got so far have been nothing put painful and uncomfortable. Note to self…. we need to ask our doctor for these shots……
Look… they look so happy to get their shots?!!??
It was time for the Chinese lanterns. We all went outside and lit the lanterns. We don't know if anyone made any wishes or not… we sure didn't …we were mesmerized and busy looking at the lanterns flying away into the distance.

We were exhausted after the lanterns and went straight to bed. We know that Mumma, Papa, Nanu, Nani and all the Uncles and Aunties were having a lot of fun as the music kept getting louder and louder and also their voices kept getting louder and louder. We think there was some dancing involved. Obviously they didn't take any pictures at that time, as they didn't want us to know that the party went on without us…and more over that they had so much fun!
We did find this one picture from after all the fun…SEEEEEEE they were having waaaaayyyyy too much fun!
The next day was actual Diwali, so we helped Nanu set up the mandir for the pooja, did pooja and had our Parshad. We love helping everyone around the house….ask Mumma! It was now time for the FIREWORKS!!! Oh My! We had seriously been missing out all our lives!!! ( all of our 11 months)! Now this is FUN! We went to the mandir for the fireworks and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
Helping Nanu!

Ready for pooja!

Zara ready to go light an Anar with Papa!

We were having so much fun watching the fireworks that we didn't want to turn for a picture.

Fuljadi with Mumma!
We came back home and ended the day with some  Chinese lanterns! What a fun filled festival! The best part being the fireworks. We can't wait for next year …maybe Papa will let us light some on our own! Fingers crossed!

Trip to Cancun

Papa planned an amazing vacation for us. Since Nanu and Nani were visiting he planned a vacation for all of us together. This was not just any vacation….but it was our first flight, our first international travel which means our first use of the passport! So many firsts!!!

Our first boarding passes

Even though mumma woke us up early to get us dressed and ready to go were were in such a good mood! We were super excited. We got to the airport in time and then took the two flights to finally reach Cancun. I don't know why people are so scared about babies on a plane! We were just fine. WE fell asleep right as the plane was taking off and landing each time and in the middle mumma and papa kept us busy eating fries and lunch.

The best part of Cancun you ask…..or do you really need to ask?…knowing as much about us as you do! Yup you got….. the water! The resort was beautiful and we enjoyed our stroller rides in it but the highlight of the trip would be the amount of pool time we got. We were at the pool almost everyday enjoying the breeze and the water and cursing around the kiddie pool in our floaties.  The pool was just the right depth for us. We could walk around freely in our floaties! Yup we said walk….no no no….we are not walking as yet but with the help of water and the floaties we got a glimpse at what walking would be like.  It felt so good! After soaking in some sun and playing in the water we would be so hungry that we would enjoy a pool side lunch and a nap sometimes on those lazy reclining chairs. Now thats what I call vacationing! Each day we would come back to the room take a bath and pass out. Mumma and Papa would have plans for dinner which they had to cancel each day since we wouldn't wake up for hours! Walking is hard work you know!

One day, we went to this nearby island one day called Isa Mujeres. Yup we had pool time there too!! Nani  and mumma went swimming to see some sharks which Nani loved and papa went snorkeling which he enjoyed too. Nanu was just enjoying relaxing.

The 5 days went by real quick and it was already time to come back. We had an amazing time at the pool, in the room playing with mumma, papa, nanu and Nani and just vacationing. WE love this whole idea of a vacation and can't wait for the next one!

Here are some pictures
