Mitika Masi came to visit

Mitika Masi, Amit Chachu and Zoe came to visit us from Seattle We had a lot of fun seeing them. In fact mom had so many stories to tell us about her childhood with Mitika masi. She told us about all the sleep overs they had and how they used to play airplane airplane in the balcony of their apartment. It seems mom and masi had a lot of fun together. Mom we are writing this down and will remind you later on when we want a sleep over and you don't let us!!!

We spend a wonderful time with Masi, Chachu, Zoe and met some new friends too. We loved masi and chachu right away and Zoe we look up to you for all the masti!

Here are some pictures of our time with Masi and Chachu. Masi, thanks for the wonderful gifts! We will definitely send you pictures in our new clothes.

Wearing Indian clothes for Janam Aashtami

It was Janam Aashtami - the celebration of Hour God Krishna's birthday and Mumma wanted us to join in on the occasion. She dressed up in our Indian outfits that Bui had sent. Zoya wore a salwar kurta while Zara wore a lehnga. We both had on our payal and enjoyed the chan chan noise that we made all day long. It also helped Mumma know exactly where we were and what masti we were up to.

We both looked fantastic in our little Indian outfits and we know this coz Mumma and Papa just could not get enough of us in these outfits. They kept laughing and smiling looking at us. This is their effort to Indianize us....or at least get us in touch with our roots! We are slowly understanding Indian festivals and so far its either being about having loads of fun (Holi and Lohri) or dressing up (Janam Aashtami). We kinda dig this Indian roots thing! Think of the things we would have missed out on otherwise! We are glad we are Indian and look forward to learning more about it by continuing the fun and wearing more awesome clothes!

Tell us what you think, here are some pictures.

9 months old!

We were 9 months old earlier this week.  We didn't do much on our birthday since we were really cranky. These teeth have been bothering us for eons. Mumma keeps saying they should be coming out soon but we don't think she knows what she is talking about because as of yet there are no teeth!

We went to see our doctor, Dr Hussein, and she was happy to see us. Zoya is 14 lbs. 12 oz. and is 25 3/4 inches and Zara is 15 lbs. 15oz. and is 26 1/4 inches. She said we were growing really well and loved to see our budding personalities. She said we can start eating everything now except fresh milk. honey and peanut butter. Wow...that mean Mumma and Papa watch out coz now doctor has said we can eat what you are eating and you can't say..."no you cant eat this yet!"

Can you tell we love our food. We have started eating quite a variety of foods that Mumma makes. We enjoy pasta with chicken, dal and chawal, rajma chawal, mashed potatoes, fish, vegetables with brown rice, mashed cauliflower with sautéed chicken and apples and we like boiled egg yolk. We tried yogurt for the first time today and Oh MY GOD we surely had been missing out! We also enjoy our roti that mumma makes. It seems Papa likes our roti too as he always wants a bite!  There isn't much that we haven't really enjoyed except we didn't care for scrambled eggs much. We are both really looking forward to trying new foods, new recipes and new spices.

We both crawl all over the place and have actually started getting along now. We love to laugh together or try standing on the same place. It does sometimes lead into fights and hair pulling but we soon forget and become best buddies again. We have attached some photos and videos of us for you to enjoy!

This thing is really cool. We were trying to figure it out together

Reading together!

Hold on Tight Zara, we are going for a ride!
